Australian finalist achieves third place in International Young Sommeliers Competition

In a breathtaking final before an invited audience at the Adelaide Wine Centre on 25 September Mattias Camilleri from Medlar Restaurant, the United Kingdom won the La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs International Young Sommeliers Competition. His focused calmness and determination withstood all competition. Heidi Makinen from Restaurant C in Finland and Mattia Cianca from Attica Restaurant, Melbourne came second and third respectively.

While the Australian Chaîne would have been delighted if Australia came first two year in a row the Australian Chaîne is proud to acknowledge Mattia’s exceptional knowledge and performance in this world standard competition.
