As per the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs (NSW Bailliage) Refund & Substitutions Policy, if for any reason you are unable to attend this event after you have purchased a ticket, we will give you a full refund upon receipt of an email to email@example.com requesting a cancellation, as long as it is received by 5pm, Friday, 23 August 2013. No refund is possible after this time. However, you will be able to substitute someone else in your place up until the event. In this instance, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure your substitutions have correct place cards and/or name badges.
On 15 July, we held the national finals of the Chaîne’s National Young Sommeliers Competition. Jarrod Mills, of Est Restaurant, was the winner and will be representing La Chaîne Australia at the international finals to be held in Washington, DC in October. We wish him well.
To revisit the national final and to facilitate some general Chaîne cordialité, our Échanson d’Australie, John Studdert, and Dennis Mather will be hosting an intimate OMGD function in their home in Petersham on 2 September.
Unlike the final itself, which was somewhat gruelling for the competitors, we have planned an evening of conviviality and interest.
On the night, we will have components of the finals available for contemplation, specifically:
John and I will also run through the various aspects of the competition.
A fine prize is awaiting the winner on the night!
In addition to the ‘official’ products tasted in the finals, John and Dennis have generously selected some aged wines from their extensive cellar; including a Hunter Semillon, a Clare Riesling, a McLaren Vale Shiraz, and a venerable vintage port. Our hosts will also kindly provide a three course meal to balance the wines and spirits to be tasted.
To ensure a genial evening, numbers are restricted to 12, so I urge you to secure your place as soon as possible.
Funds generated on the night will be used to support future Young Sommelier Competitions and our Bailliage generally.
The cost for the evening is $65 per person, and restricted to OMGD members (who may bring one guest).

P.S. We suggest that you use public transport or a cab on the evening. John and Dennis’ home is well serviced by public transport. Dress code is smart casual with Chaîne regalia.
