Emmanuel Cadieu from Felix Restaurant wins La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Australian Young Sommeliers Competition

On 11 July the Australian National Final of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Young Sommeliers Competition was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney. Six finalists from Australia’s finest restaurants battled it out in a number of gruelling written, tasting and service tests for a chance to represent Australia at the International Final, which this year is being held on 25 August in Vaduz, the Capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Emmanuel Cadieu came out on top ahead of his five other finalists; Ben Hasko, Bootleggers Wine and Spirits, Sydney, Jonathan Ward,  Print Hall, Perth, Robert Lozelle, Rockpool, Sydney, Justin Biskup, Rockpool, and Carlos Simoes, Vue de Monde, Melbourne. Carlos achieved second place and Ben third. The standard this year was extremely good and augers well for the future of the sommelier community. See more
